last week my sweet and spunky furry bff passed on to kitty heaven. Dr. Scorpio was a lover and joy. like a living piece of art and bundle of curiousity he filled our house and studio with inspiration. it happened so suddenly and way before his time but he was loved and cherished every second of everyday. so farewell dear friend, may we meet again some day. my dear friend susan captured this image only weeks before he left us. thank you susan dean, this photograph will be cherished in my life forever.

blue and the 80's

i really dont know why but all year i have been obsessed with finger waves. when the time came to shoot for NAHA i whispered into allen ruiz ear to see if i could influence his inspiration. as always allen can whip up some sexy hair in a flash. well this shoot took two days and 8 models but still.

this year i decided to get all my junk in order. light a fire under my ass and plow thru my business responsibilities so i could make time to shoot for myself. it only took 3 tv filled weeks to realize i needed to hire some one to kick my ass into gear. Yikes, 102 degrees and we were melting. I think we shot in about 2 min. so we could get back to some air conditioning. Our poor model was in fall get up too. Here's a little taste.

as you know i have been doing alot of beauty shots for jruiz salon here in austin. well i havent posted any final shots on my website because we still have not edited. i am excited to put some ideas on the blog though to start deciding which color pallet im going to go with for final retouching. heres a fun one.

i love red heads

here is a sample of the shoot i did yesterday with the aptus 75s. so crazy. alen ruiz my hairstylist friend went nuts and created some amazing hairstyles. this one is one of my faves and the fifth look for this girl. we shot 5 models for two days. i loved every minute. its such a pleasure to work with such talented people.

last weekend i had the privilege to work with a beautiful camera, the leaf 65. wowsers. it was like going to see the eye doctor and getting that new prescription. i had no idea i was missing so much. im still working on the final retouching but here is a basic idea.
